It's not that easy being blue
Spending each day the color of an old lady’s hairdo
When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow or gold
Or something much more symbolic like that
It's not easy being blue
It seems you stand out from so many other ordinary things
And people tend to stare at you 'cause you're
Not a normal color for pretty much any living thing
Or anything you’d want to eat
But blue's the color of the sky
And blue can be cool and business-like
And blue can be big like an ocean on a map, or mundane
Like the ink used to sign a legal paper
When blue is all there’s left to be
It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why
Wonder, they pick blue when there’s too many reds and purples
And I think it's why I got the raspberry
